Karela

 





Ingredients
  • Karela (Bitter Gourd)
  • Oil
  • Tomato
  • Ginger Paste
  • Garlic Paste
  • Turmeric
  • Red Chilly powder
  • Garam Masala
  • Lime
  • Coriander
  • Salt 
  • Coconut
  • Jeera 
  • Rai (mustard)
  • Jaggery

Method

  • Boil water and add turmeric, salt and lime to it
  • Put the pieces of karela in the water and cook until tender
  • In a mixer blend ginger,  garlic, coriander and coconut
  • Add oil to a pan
  • Add rai, jeera and tomato and mix until tomatoes are mushy
  • Add the mixture and fry a little
  • Then add red chilly powder, garam masala, turmeric, jaggery and a little salt and mix
  • Now add the cooked karela and mix with the masala
  • Add water as per the consistency you need
  • Cover and let it simmer for some time

Your karela is ready to serve.
