Ingredients
- Karela (Bitter Gourd)
- Oil
- Tomato
- Ginger Paste
- Garlic Paste
- Turmeric
- Red Chilly powder
- Garam Masala
- Lime
- Coriander
- Salt
- Coconut
- Jeera
- Rai (mustard)
- Jaggery
Method
- Boil water and add turmeric, salt and lime to it
- Put the pieces of karela in the water and cook until tender
- In a mixer blend ginger, garlic, coriander and coconut
- Add oil to a pan
- Add rai, jeera and tomato and mix until tomatoes are mushy
- Add the mixture and fry a little
- Then add red chilly powder, garam masala, turmeric, jaggery and a little salt and mix
- Now add the cooked karela and mix with the masala
- Add water as per the consistency you need
- Cover and let it simmer for some time
Your karela is ready to serve.
